Post #8: Me in 5, 10, and 20 Years

Good Morning Class,

Since this is college week and we are talking about planning for the future, I would like you to tell me where you see yourself in 5, 10 and 20 years from now.  In five years you will be graduating from high school... what are your plans after high school?  In ten years you will be graduating from college... what will you do after college.  In twenty years you will be well into your career (maybe even married with kids...) what does your future look like?

Minimum of seven sentences.  Don't forget spelling capitalization and punctuation!!!!!

Post #7: National Escargot Day

NATIONAL ESCARGOT DAY – May 24

Escargot {es.kar.go} is the French word for snail.

National Escargot Day is observed each year on May 24th.  This day is in honor of the famous French dish of cooked land snails. Escargot is enjoyed by many. However, it is an acquired taste.  It is usually served as an appetizer in French restaurants. 

The dish of Escargot is usually prepared by removing the land snails from their shells, cooking them with garlic, butter and wine. They are then placed back into their shells with the sauce for serving.    The dish is served with a special fork and tong for easier dining.

Would you or have you ever eaten escargot?  Tell me why you would or would not try this dish. If you have tried it, what does it taste like?  If you have not tried it, tell me what you imagine it would taste like.

Post #6: Zoo or in the Wild?

Do you think that an animal in a zoo or in the wild has a better life?  Defend your choice.  Keep in mind that animals in the zoo are fed and not hunted.

In our book The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle the main character, Charlotte, is forced into an uncomfortable situation.  Have you ever been in a situation where you felt like an outsider or unfamiliar with your surroundings? Write about an unfamiliar experience in which you were uncomfortable. Include details that help explain your feelings.

Please write a paragraph about your favorite place in the state of California. Find an image to show that place, and comment on each other's blogs about if you've been to that place or not, and what you might like or enjoy about going to that place.

Many call Disneyland "The Happiest Place on Earth" and our family is no exception.  Every time we venture down to the magic kingdom we always have a great time!

       Cereal companies try to entice customers by placing all kinds of prizes in their boxes; toys, gadgets, and games are just a few examples.  If you could find any prize, what surprise would you like to find in a cereal box?  Why?  Remember it has to fit in a cereal box. Use your imagination and have fun with this one.
