Blog #12: The Mona Lisa... Why IS she so famous?

The Mona Lisa... Why IS she so famous?

We talked in the classroom, during our study of the Renaissance, about the Mona Lisa, its painter (Leonardo da Vinci) and the new techniques used to create the painting.  Every year over 6 million people flock to the Louvre to get a look at the famous oil painting.  But why?  Research the Mona Lisa online and give me at least three reasons why she is known throughout the world.

Extra, extra... what do the French people call the Mona Lisa? (hint: it's not Mona Lisa)
